INSTRUCTIONS TO PUBLISH ARTCLES
- Articles submitted to Voces: Tecnología y Pensamiento should be originals. They must not have been published, and should not be submitted to other journals at the same time.
Three copies of the submission should be sent to the magazine’s Editorial.
Submissions can be sent to: Sede Principal de la División de Investigación, Extensión, Postgrado y Producción de la Universidad Politécnica Territorial del Estado Mérida “Kléber Ramírez” (UPTM), Ejido, Estado Mérida.
- Articles should contain a digital version and they also must be printed on paper size US letter and font Times 12. Articles should also be sent to the e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org If the paper contains figures, tables, graphics or similar elements, the program in which they were printed should be specified.
- Articles. They should have a minimum of 15 pages and should not be longer than 20 pages. Articles should be printed on paper size US letter, double spacing and font Times 12. Margins should be of 3 centimeters at all sides of the paper. Pages should be numbered in a progressive form.
- Titles. Title should be precise, short and clear. It should not be longer than 15 words. It must be centered on the top of the first page and it must be written in capital letters. An English title in lower case must follow the main title.
- Name of the author and name of the institution. This must be written after the title on the left side.
Resúmen and Abstract
Following the name of the author(s) and the name of the institution, there should be included two abstracts (Spanish and English). The abstracts should not be longer than 150 words. The Abstract in Spanish must be called Resúmen. The abstract should be clear and concise. It cannot include either quotations or bibliographical references.
Key Words. After each abstract (Spanish and English), words that make reference to the general aspects of the article should be included. They should be separated by dots and commas (no more than five). The title, the name of the author, the abstract and the key words should not be longer than 1 page.
Text. The text of the article should start on a different page. The structure of the article can be flexible, but without compromising the elements of: introduction, body and conclusions.
References. The references must be included at the end of the article in alphabetical and chronological order with only those sources cited in the article. For reference style follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). References must include author, year of publication (in parenthesis), title of the work (in italics), and publication information depending on the case.
Books. Author’s last name, initial of the name. (Year). Title of the book: City: Publisher. Example: Bernández, E. (1987). Lingüística del texto: Madrid: Arco/Libros.
Edited Books or Articles. Author’s last name, initial of the name. (Year). Title of the article. Title of publication, volume (number), number of pages of the article. Example:
Espinoza L. (2006). El letrado como figura fundacional de las nuevas repúblicas. Voces: tecnología y pensamiento, 1 (1), 115-125
On-line Source. Author’s last name, initial of the name, (Copyright if it is available). Title of the article. Title of publication, number of pages. Retrieved (date), from (URL).
Example: Fredrickson, B. L (2000). Cultivating positive emotions. Prevention & treatment, 3. Recuperado el 20 de enero de 2001, de http://journals.apa.org/prevention/volume3/pre0030001a.html
The citation of sources within the text should be specified as follows: (González, 1994). When quotations marks are used, page, number must be added, for example, (González, 1994, p. 45)
Author’s notes must be brief and must be numbered and included at the end of the article before the references.
For additional details follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).
Style. Writing, presentation, tables and figures, references to author(s), bibliographical references and similar aspects must follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).
If the publication is the partial or total result of an investigation which has been financed by the Division de Investigación, Postgrado y Producción of IUTE Institute, or has been financed by LOCTI, FUNDACITE, FONACIT or any similar organization, a letter must be included specifying the code of the project. This letter should be added at the end of the article.
The information that appears in tables, charts or graphs will have to contain the original source clearly. Also, in a table, the numerical information will predominate; in a chart, the qualitative information will have to dominate and in a graph, figures or signs will be the most important.
Additionally. All articles must include a review of the author(s) which should not be longer than 50 words, including the following: academic qualifications at a bachelor or postgraduate level, university that provided those academic qualifications and which positions the author(s) is or has been in charge of. Likewise, the author(s) phone number and e-mail address should be included.
Submission. Every article will be reviewed anonymously by three independent professors.
Correction of submitted articles will be sent to the author(s) for review. Once the article has been reviewed by the author, this must be sent back to the editors.
Unaccepted papers will be sent back to the author(s) with corrections included and they cannot be submitted a second time.
Authorization and Responsibility. The author must include a letter where he/she authorizes Voces: tecnología y pensamiento Magazine to publish the article.
The Editors and the Editor in chief of Voces: tecnología y pensamiento Magazine reserve the right to include alterations in terms of the formal aspects of the article. At the same time, they do no take responsibility for ideas and opinions expressed in the articles.
The authors will receive two copies of the issue in which their article was published.
